Summer is finally here, and that means you can open your windows once again to let warm air and sunshine into your home. However, as nice as it is to open up your windows and let some summer come inside, you might also be inviting droves of insects and other critters as well as leaves and debris into your home as well. That’s where window screens come in: using woven wire made from lightweight materials, these screens fit on the exterior of your windows’ frames to keep out bugs and other nuisances. Window screens come in a wide range of varieties that can suit your specific needs, so visit our website to learn about the right window screens for you!

John Cena can go toe-to-toe with any wrestler that challenges him, but to many of his fans, his exploits in the ring are secondary to his other talent: making wishes come true. In fact, with more than 500 wishes under his belt, Cena is the all-time record holder for the most wishes granted by an individual for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, a nonprofit that grants the wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses.
Cena, a 15-time World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) champion, first became involved with the Make-A-Wish Foundation in 2009, and within five years, he had already granted over 400 wishes. His record-breaking 500th wish came in 2015 when he surprised Rocco Lanzer, an eight-year-old boy from Queens, New York who was diagnosed with leukemia, with ringside seats to a WWE match.
In 2009, Cena received the Make-A-Wish Foundation’s prestigious Chris Greicius Celebrity Award, which is named for the first child to have a wish granted by the organization over 30 years ago.
When Cena comes to make some of his most deserving fans’ wishes come true, he’s bringing more than just tickets. He tells them to never give up–it was originally his catch phrase, but now, it’s his way of encouraging them to stay strong no matter what.
Windows USA is a proud supporter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Each year, we sponsor a wish; last year, we were able to send a sick child and their family to Australia’s Great Barrier Reef. Leaves aren’t the only thing falling this season–temperatures are also dropping, and if you’re not careful, that cold air can make its way into your home. One way to protect yourself against the chilly weather is to make sure your windows are ready for the cold, and one of the best ways to do that is to make sure they’re energy efficient. But what does that mean, anyway, and how can you find that out?
Energy efficient windows can reduce a home or office’s heat loss or heat gain as well as its air leakage, which helps to keep your energy bills low. Making your windows more energy efficient can be as simple as installing some a few improvements: draperies, for example, are a low-cost tool that can reduce winter heat loss by as much as 10% when drawn, and sealing cracks with caulk or weatherstripping can prevent cold air and drafts leaking inside.
Sometimes, however, a few improvements won’t be enough, and you’ll need to buy a new set of energy efficient windows. These windows come with certain features built-in that make them more energy efficient, such as double or triple panes, reflective coatings on the glass, metal-free designs, and more. Keep an eye out for the Energy Star label, which indicates products that are energy efficient, when shopping for your new windows.
Windows USA manufactures and installs 100% Energy Star certified windows of the highest quality, and we’ve installed over 2,000,000 of our Alaskan Windows in homes across America.
